By the end of eighth grade, students who are making adequate progress in physical education are able to:
- Identify 4 different soccer positions
- Familiar with basic soccer rules
- Distinguish between a “carry” and a forearm pass in volleyball
- Successfully execute both overhand and underhand serve in volleyball
- Proficient at 3 different types of takedowns in wrestling
- Recite the rules for European Handball
- Demonstrate proper shooting technique using the “BEEF” concept in basketball
- Knowledge of the importance of teamwork
- Ability to set realistic wellness goals and understand how to achieve them
- Identify basic concepts of fitness
