Dear Oxford High School Parents, Guardians, and Students,
Let me be the first to say Welcome Back to School! And, if this is your first year at Oxford High, welcome to our school. I feel both honored and privileged to have been selected as your newly appointed principal. As many of you already know, my name is Jon Cooley, and this will mark my 17th year as an educator. My teaching experience occurred at Union-Endicott High School where I taught biology and career academy science. Over the last year, while earning my Certificate in Educational Leadership, I have interned as an administrator at Union-Endicott High School and Anne G. McGuinness Elementary School and loved every minute of it! I must say that I am proud to move from my role as a teacher to a leadership position at Oxford because of the extraordinary teachers, staff, families, and students that make up this school district. I want you to feel welcome to stop by the school whether it’s to volunteer or simply say hello.
I believe it is extremely important for your child to know their school administrator, and I will work hard to make sure that happens. You will frequently find me at lunch with the students, or in classrooms throughout the school. I hold myself accountable for being visible in the hallways, cafeteria, and classrooms.
My hope is that you and your child find me both approachable and easy to speak to and you won’t hesitate to contact me if you ever have questions, concerns, or just want to share good news about your child or about our school.
I would like to close by once again telling you how much I look forward to working with you, our students and our staff at Oxford High School. Thank you for the opportunity to work with your children each day. I am truly honored.
Educationally Yours,
Jonathan Cooley
Principal
